Teach First recruits, trains and supports new teachers in schools in low-income communities. It has proven success in improving results and, funding permitting, could help many schools help thousands more children.
All children deserve a great education and the best start in life. We are delighted to be able to help Teach First and their partner schools. Teach First work in areas which face some of the biggest educational challenges today.
Our fist grant to Teach First was in 2012, supporting them to expand into Wales; with our support, they placed their first ever cohort of trainees in Welsh schools in 2013, and are now expanding, recruiting more teachers in Wales. Since then, we have also funded their work in the North East and East of England, as well as isolated, coastal and market towns across England And Wales.
