Teenage Cancer Trust
Teenage Cancer Trust really understands the power of peer-to-peer support. This is not only through its pioneering work in establishing specialist units in hospitals where teenagers and young people with cancer can be treated together, but also through events that bring young people together to learn from each other, learn from experts and share their experiences. Evaluation shows that the benefits for young people who attend these events continue long after they have finished.
We have been a key supporter of Teenage Cancer Trust since 2013 when we helped fund two annual weekend residentials for young people (‘Find Your Sense of Tumour’). Our funding continues to support ‘Find Your Sense of Tumour’ for both over 18s, and under 18s, plus one-day sessions throughout the year. We have also provided funding for a handbook ‘Honest Answers and Sound Advice: A Young Person’s Guide to Cancer’.
