Young Persons Guide to Cancer Highly Commended at BMA Patient Awards
Teenage Cancer Trust was shortlisted for a BMA Patient Information Award for ‘A Young Persons guide to Cancer – Honest Answers Sound Advice’. This excellent Guide was funded by The Queen’s Trust and has attracted attention from other countries, who are looking to produce something similar. At the BMA Awards, the guide was put into the highly commended category which is a great accolade.
BMA Council Member Dr Andrew Dearden comments on the guide were as follows:
‘This is an exceptional book, which I am sure will help to support young people with cancer and educate those of us who may have them in their care. It is serious but with a light touch. It has been incredibly well researched and thought out, and skilfully presented. Congratulations on producing and excellent book, which must of taken a lot of work to produce but its hits the spot and as a GP, has made me think about my communication with young patients with any serious condition.’
